Verizon Hub
The Verizon Hub is a media phone available from Verizon
Wireless.It features a 7 inch LCD screen at 16-bit color.
The hub can sync the user's calendar, contact, maps,
traffic, weather reports and emails.The hub allows users
to send text, photo and video messages. The device also
provides the users to watch videos, listen to radio, surf
internet, book movie tickets and many more...
During my first eight months in verizon, I was in the
interaction and visual design team where we developed
features like e-mail, alarm clock, recipies, internet radio,
and chalkboard in the hub. In US, I was also handling
the interaction as well as visual design of the handset
of the hub during this time.
Verizon Wireless
Verizon wireless have the most number of customers in the country,
the second being one fifth of its count, and provide wide range of
new generation CDMA phones to the users. I shifted to verizon
wireless design team for a period of six months. Our team developed
a new application "Wi-FiOS", which works in sync with verizon FiOS
TV, and uses wi-fi for the communication. Wi-FiOS allows you to
switch your phone into a TV remote, Arrange your channel favorites,
and view your photos in your mobile on the TV. Wi-FiOS recieved
many appreciations for its innovative gesture based interactions and
pleasing aesthetic designs. My responsibilties included idea
developing, wireframing, branding [ logo and promo videos ],
Interaction design, Iconography, and visual designing. During this
project, i worked on many smart phones such as HTC diamond,
HTC diamond 2, Android and Samsung Omnia. I also had the
oppurtunity to work close with technical developers to understand
the constraints and possibilities of the technology used.
