Hand of Hunger
“Hand of Hunger” is an animation film that attempt to depict
a conflict of my emotions. It is about the dilemma to choose
between my professional ambition and my emotion of
compassion. The film shows me as an animator in it making a
propaganda animation against exploitation of other’s misery
for professional reasons, and coming up with something which
is of no use for those suffering. “Hand of Hunger” is the title
of a photograph in the animation which in turn become
famous and undergoes certain transformation, both in its
visual form and in its intentions. The film ends with the
animator realizing that the animation is also no different
from what it propagates.
Chai
"Chai" is my most favorite animation among my works,
Because there's a very interesting story behind its story.
During my initial days of college, our faculty gave us a task
to come up with an animation script on the next day. I was
very new to this environment and so my confidence level
was not all that great then. That i had this night mare in
which except me, my all classmates were showcasing brilliant
animation and I was jealous and ashamed [in the dream].
After i woke up, and i could remember one of my friend's
animation in my dream was about chai cup and dancers.
i took "her" story [:P], because it was in my dream and so it
belongs to me
Birth of Ganesh : Experimental animation
"Birth of Ganesh" was one of my assignment during my
Animation course in IIT. The animation is inspired from
"Kaavad", a traditional story telling method from Rajasthan.
Kaavad has a distinctive method of unfolding a story as
each panel in the Kaavad box opens. I have created
characters by making cutouts from photographs of a
kaavad and animated it. The interesting feature of this
animation is that the screen is divided into different
physical space as is used as different plots in the story.
Men at Work
I've done "Men at work" way before joining IDC. Now I can
observe that the amount of learning in storytelling and film
making i had during my M.Des course has significantly made
a difference in my later films. i'm including this animation
mainly to showcase my technical and animation skills
The Last Kill
" The Last Kill " is a stopmotion film, which i did just to
entertain my 4 year old nephew with his toy, The movie
was shown directly from the camera's LCD viewer to him.
Later i had used music and effects and completed it
with titles.
